Early Life
Ali is the son of Willicia and Phillip Gilmore, born on 1974, February 16. He was brought up in Cleveland, Ohio and at the age of 14, he was brought back to Oakland. Ali has a background with a Christian family but later on, he adopted Islam as a religion and shifted his surname to Ali from Gilmore. Although he was named after the name of the son of a prophet quoted in the bible as “Maher-shalal-hash-baz”. Ali attended the St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga and got the degree of Mass Communication in 1996.
At first, Ali wants o to become a basketball player and joined SMC on this basis but later on, he got fed up with the behavior done with team athletes. Later on, in 2008, he performed in David Fincher as his major movie.

With the name of “Prince Ali”, he released his first and the last album in the late 2000s, according to Hieroglyphics Imperium, he was signed to Bay Area. But unfortunately, after releasing his first album, he didn’t make a tour for the promotion and quit rapping to focus on the acting career merely.
