Alda was born in the Bronx, the city in New York having a roving life at childhood. His father “Robert Alda” was an actor and singer, his mother “Joan Browne” was a housemaker. He has visited the United States in his early life as his father was a performer in burlesque theaters. His mother was Irish and father was Italic in ancestral order. Alda adapted his surname by blending two names together ALphonso and D’Abruzzo, making “Adla”. He has attended his schooling at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. Later on, he was cast in the American television version of That Was The Week That Was, along with David Frost, Henry Morgan, and Buck Henry.
