Allen began his career by writing short jokes and selling it to the Broadway writer to purchase when he was 15. Later on, he created the links by sending the proposal to the writers and in 1955, he joined NBC as a writer development program. Afterward, he worked initially for $25 per week in Herb Shriner as a full-time humorist. As a stand-up comedian, he started in 1960 till 1969. In 1966, Allen wrote his first play, “Don’t Drink Water” and the film was released in 1969. In 1994, he started working on second television version with Michael J. Fox and Mayim Bialik.
